Troops from Mobile Brigade No. 15 underwent a skirmish with terrorist guerrillas from FARC, where one of the terrorist members was wounded and received immediate medical attention by soldiers from Colombian Army.
The military action took place in the rural area of the municipality of Tarra, Norte de Santander, where troops from Counterguerrilla Battalion No. 98, of Mobile Brigade No. 15, within the framework of military operations, entered into contact with members of the ‘Adán Rodríguez ’ mobile column of FARC; as a result of the confrontation one terrorist identified as alias ‘Marlon’, second-in-command for the squad was injured. He had been with the illegally armed structure for six years.
Consequently, troops provided first aid and then evacuated the injured guerrilla to a hospital center, where he received specialized medical attention.
At this time, alias ‘Marlon’ is in stable condition, overcoming any danger and without any medical complications. Actions like this, once again show the Army’s commitment with the regulations regarding Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law.
