Villa Garzón. In the last few hours, at the settlement of Villa Nueva de Yurilla, municipality of Puerto Guzmán, troops from the Army’s 27th Jungle Brigade, while performing military control activities in the area, assisted a young guerrilla woman found abandoned by her comrades, after engaging in serious combat with troops from Infantry Battalion 25, General Roberto Domingo Rico Díaz.
The young subversive woman, named alias “Yurleny”, seeming to be the sentimental partner of “El mocho Víctor”, head of FARC’s 32nd combat front.
Alias “Yurleny” was found with multiple wounds, and when soldiers saw her condition they immediately rendered first aid. She was later transferred to a military dispensary unit at Villa Garzón, where she had her wounds launched, and was provided medical intervention. She was later transferred to the Mocoa Hospital while an ambulance plane evacuates her to Bogotá.
Brigadier General Javier Fernández Leal, commander of the 27th Brigade, ratified the work of the military Armed Forces in complying with the constitutional obligation of watching over the life of all Colombians, also highlighting the commitment to respect Human Rights and to strictly adhere to International Humanitarian Law.
In the execution of this operation, two more members of this guerrilla faction died in combat. Likewise, Army personnel recovered for assault rifles, communication equipment and documents of interest for military intelligence.
