A17-year-old young man, recruited by FARCs 44th squad narco terrorist organization, received medical attention from an Army combat nurse, assigned to Counterguerrilla Battalion No. 32 Héroes de la Uribe, in an area of better known as Araguato, jungle region of the municipality of San José del Guaviare.
There was combat in this area between military forces from Minor Operational Unit and members of the above-mentioned terrorist faction of FARC. In these events the youngster was wounded, evacuated thanks to the coordinate work between the troops from Jungle Brigade No. 22 and Air Combat Command 2.
Despite the difficulties and weather conditions in the area of combat, Air Force pilots were able to carry out the operation, even at the risk of losing their lives. Minutes later, the youngster known as alias ‘el Rolo’ was transferred to the Apiay air base, where doctors from Hospital Militar de Oriente managed to stabilize his vitals. Lastly, the youngster was recruited into medical center in the capital city of Meta.
At the moment of receiving humanitarian aid, alias ‘el Rolo’ was dressed in a uniform of private use by the Armed Forces and was in possession of an assault rifle, ammunition, five clips and a hand grenade.
According to information obtained in the area of operations, ‘el Rolo’ had been recruited by FARC at the age of 14, and was currently part of the security ring of alias ‘Míller’, head of FARCs 44th squad.
The rescue and kindly attention to the youngster reflects the commitment of the troops of respecting Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law as a fundamental basis for military performance.
On the other hand, it once again shows the ongoing infractions to international humanitarian law by the narco terrorist organization FARC, recruiting boys and girls from Colombia.
