Villavicencio. The neutralization of an improvised explosive device, the finding of solid chemicals for the manufacture of illegal drugs and the eradication of 4.94 acres of illegal crops are part of the results obtained by the Armys Fourth Division, in the departments of Meta and Guaviare.

The first action was reported from the vicinity of Los Mangos, municipality of Mapiripán, Meta, where soldiers from Counterguerrilla Battalion 7 `Héroes de Arauca´ while performing military search and control operations found and destroyed an anti-personnel mine planted by terrorists from FARCs 49 squad. In the same operation, troops confiscated 50 kg of lime and 20 gallons of acetone.

Meanwhile, troops from engineering Battalion Seven `General Carlos Albán´ deployed in the settlement of San Cristóbal, municipality of Acacías, in the same department, reported the finding and later destruction of 25 kg of dynamite, abandoned by terrorists from FARCs 39 squad.

On another front, in the general vicinity of Puerto Nápoles, municipality of San José del Guaviare, Guaviare, soldiers from Jungle Brigade 31, located and destroyed a coca plantation with 6000 seedlings.

Lastly, 4.94 acres of illegal crops, owned by drug trafficking mobs were destroyed by the Seventh Brigade, deployed in the vicinity of Guayacán, municipality of Mapiripán.
