Soldiers of the Eighth Army Division conducted in the municipality of Puerto Inirida, in the department of Guainia, which allowed a Day Inter benefit more than one hundred indigenous community members of catanacuname, chaveni, gigua and Punta de Angel.
Thus, with the firm intention to further strengthen the state presence in every corner of the country, bypassing the difficulties of travel to reach this remote area, troops from Infantry Battalion No. 45 General Prospero Pinzón’ in coordination with members of the Navy, the National Police and the Departmental Health Secretariat, organized the activity to promote the native population inhabiting the vast and dense jungle of the Orinoco in Colombia.
The conference was attended by doctors and dentists and recreationists, tailoring and shoemaking were also offered. Moreover, there were kits, clothing and working tools handed away.
Boys and girls, without a doubt, were who most enjoyed the activity because they could share various recreational pastimes with the soldiers who ensure the territorial sovereignty of this area. They also acquired new knowledge about the importance of national symbols and the role of military forces in the country.
