A further agreement between the Department of Education and Doctrine Command with the United Nations International Childrens Emergency Fund (UNICEF), seeking to train staff officers and NCOs from the various operational units across the country.
This week at the Thirtieth Brigade of organic military personnel of the Unit developed a series of training workshops in areas relating to the treatment that the troops should be given to minors, including those actions by illegally armed groups that have forcibly recruited children and who are victims of the conflict.
Respect for the rules and the rights of children, as well as knowledgement of international treaties to keep children from irregular conflict, were the topics covered in this seminar-workshop, which runs across the country within Force.
The commitment of the Thirtieth Brigade to strengthen respect for human rights, including the primacy of children continue to be implemented through lectures, drills in Instruction and Training Battalions and the area of responsibility includes the Operating Unit in the department.
