A camouflaged uniform is worn on the heart, like a second skin, it is taken care of and worn proudly. That's the premise of a man dressed in honor framing his chest with a gold medal, symbol of effort, struggle and dedication.
The professional soldier Habib de las Salas de la Rosa, attached to the Engineer Battalion Coronel Agustín Codazzi, filled with glory our country, and our glorious National Army with his excellent participation in the Pan American Games which take place in Toronto, Canada. He brought the country one of the gold medals in weightlifting.
He is a man who has spent seven year of his life in the Army. He belongs to the Colombian Military Sports Federation in the Armed Forces weightlifting league which stands as the reigning champion of the national games.
I thank the Army for its support through the Military Sports Federation. It has given us a great support to the military athletes, allowing us to turn away and concentrate on the sport to provide glories to our institution and our families, said the soldier. He hopes people feel proud of this victory, obtained by lifting a total of 269 kilos, setting a new record in the Pan American Games.
He is currently in concentration in the league, preparing to be the best. His constant struggle is framed by the principles and values of the Force, which will give him security and training to go a step closer to his dreams.
His greatest joy is seeing his national flag hoisted in another country on his merits, listening to the national anthem in a distant place, and feel his heart vibrate.
