Commemorates the successful Campaign of the Andes with the Battle of Boyacá, which took place on August 7, 1819. The battle reminds us of the tenacity of the men already tired from an arduous liberating campaign led by its main precursor, Simón Bolívar, the hero of independence.
History tells us that everything began with a flower vase. It was a Friday - 20th of July and market day - when a Creole went to borrow a flower vase. An apparently unimportant act, which prompted the confrontation between creoles and Spaniards which culminated with the independence of Colombia.
