The Army celebrated International Human Rights Day

At a conference on the progress of Human Rights which the Army, the vice-minister of Defense, Sergio Jaramillo, hosted today those in attendance at Colombia Hall, School of Arms and Services, in commemoration of the 61st anniversary of the Declaration of Human Rights following World War II.

The Army’s Human Rights School joined-in this year at the anniversary together with ONG Young People for Human Rights (ONG Jovenes por los Derechos Humanos), composed of national and international artists which work in defense of rights for all humans.

With a solemn mass, a floral offering and the unveiling of a plaque in honor of this day, the Director of the Center for Military Studies and the Director of the School of Human Rights remembered the military and civilian personnel which have given their lives in defense of Human Rights.
