For José Inocencio, “All with the same heart”, a telethon held over the weekend in Arauca, where the Eighteenth Brigade of the Army participated. The activity was organized by the National Police.
The primary mission was to raise funds for José Inocencio, just under 12 years of age on August 7, who lost both his legs after stepping on a landmine set by terrorists of FARC 45th Front, one of many scattered throughout his farm, located in a rural area of the municipality of Tame.
The child was initially evacuated by soldiers of the Engineer Battalion No. 18 to the health center of the town of Tame, then the Army Aviation transfered him by helicopter to the city of Arauca, and was subsequently sent to Hospital Erasmo Meoz of Cucuta and is now recovering in a hospital in the capital of the country.
In the event that started at nine oclock in the morning and ended at nine in the evening of August 13, attended Engineer Luis Eduardo Arias Ataya, Governor of Arauca department, and Mr. Brigadier General Rafael Alberto Neira Wiesner, Commander of the Eighteenth Brigade of the Army, Dr. Norma Constanza Rich, Mayor (e) of the municipality of Arauca and Lt. In this campaign, which had participation from the media in the region, the institutional police stations, army and navy, the soldiers of the Psychological Operations Task Force (GEOS) of the Eighteenth Brigade, traders, transporters public service, bystanders and the general community, managing to raise 8 million 100 thousand pesos.
