The Farc assassinated two candidates for Mayor in Campamento (Antioquia) in moments when they were developing campaign activities.
Guillermo Roldán Correa, from the Conservative Party, and Donay Jesús Correa Londoño, from National Unity (U Party), were assassinated by guerrilla men of the Farc, according with the version of the Government Secretary of Campamento, Catalina Lopera. Roldan and Correa where looking for the electorate favor in order to achieve the Mayor post of Campamento in Antioquia.
The politicians never manifested any threats against them and “went out without giving any advise and that’s why they didn’t had bodyguards”.
In Campamento there is a heavy presence of the front 36 of the Farc that has blocked the roads, assassinated and kidnapped people and also attacked the electric infrastructure and roads of the zone.
These two assassinations are added to the attack against the candidate to the Mayor´s post at El Bagre, same as against a politician that looked for a post in the council of the same town, registered last week. The Farc also threatened the Conservative politician Liliana Rendón.
The guerrilla actions were produced on the same day that the release was posted in which they claim for a “Civilized” way out of the armed conflict in Colombia.
