At the city of Barrancabermeja took place the military ceremony of the Special Energetic and Road Battalion No. 7 from the Fifth Brigade.
At the parade´s field from the Battalion, was made the ceremony headed by the Commander of the Brigade and the assistance of civilian authorities and the police from the region.
The outgoing Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Fernando Augusto Quintero turned in the command of the battalion to Lieutenant Colonel Roberto Estupiñán Sepúlveda which comes from the Tolima Task Force, with command post at Chaparral, Tolima.
The new commander has as challenge among other responsibilities to care over the security of the electric, petroleum and palm oil infrastructure at the municipalities of Barrancabermeja, Puerto Wilches and Yondó.
At the speech Lieutenant Colonel Estupiñán said: “Today I assume one of the most important challenges till today, receiving as commander of this military unit, and be certain that from this moment all my efforts will be directed to the accomplishment of the mission that from now on is with the people of Santander and Colombia”.
Also the Officer expressed his disposition of working hand in hand with the community, the civilian authorities and policemen, on the design of strategies for fixing the problems and guaranteeing the security and development of the jurisdiction.
