Explosive factory from the Farc was dismantled in Cauca

Troops from the Third Brigade from the Third Division, attached to the Southwester Joint Command, in coordination with the troops from the Judicial Police, destroyed at the northern area of Cauca an explosive factory from the ‘Jacobo Arenas’ group from the Farc.

The finding took place at the town of Loma Alta at the municipality of Santader de Quilichao.

At the site the troops held engagements against terrorists which according to the information were in charge of elaborating nearly 300 explosive artifacts per week.

In the site the troops confiscated 10 cylinders of 100 pounds loaded with explosives, 40 kilos of R1 explosive, two launching ramps, 32 launch grenades without the explosives, 294 tubes for the elaboration of launch grenades, 118 war cartridges, 13 metallic tubes of 2 inches and 2 meters long, 287 cut tubes for the elaboration of fuses, two welding equipments, 1000 meters of welding copper, 17 gas cylinder valves, two compressors and tools used for the elaboration of explosives.

The Commander from the Third Brigade, Brigadier General Ricardo Jimenez Mejía, thanks the civilian population for its opportune support towards the labors being development in the sector, as well as the reiteration that military operations will continue.
