The 12th Mechanized Cavalry Group ‘General Ramón Arturo Rincón Quiñones’, attached to the 12th Brigade, celebrated its anniversary as the insignia of the National Army on its 193rd birthday of homeland service.
It took place at the facilities of the 12th Engineers Battalion were a mass was celebrated between the personnel from the unit in order to give honors to the cavalry men.
The commemoration of this important day has its origins on the historical ‘Pantano de Vargas’ Battle on July 25th 1819 were 14 ‘lanceros’ commanded by Colonel Juan José Rondón, came to the battle field by the call of the Liberator, “Colonel Rondón, You must save the homeland”.
La conmemoración de esta importante fecha, tiene sus orígenes en la histórica Batalla del Pantano de Vargas, el 25 de julio de 1819, cuando un grupo de 14 lanceros, comandados por el Coronel Juan José Rondón, ingresaron en el campo de batalla al escuchar el llamado del Libertador, “Coronel Rondón, salve usted la patria”.
