Major General Alejandro Navas Ramos, new National Army Commander

Major General Alejandro Navas Ramos is a native of Monteria, Cordoba. He entered the Military School of Cadets General José María Córdova in 1972, where he achieved the rank of second lieutenant of Infantry in June 1976.
There have been many achievements from General Alejandro Navas in the nearly 38 years he has belonged to the institution. His vocation as a servant of the country has earned him numerous roles in which he stood out as Commander of Joint Special Operations Command, Commander Joint Task Force Omega, Commander of the Rapid Deployment Force, Director of the National Center Training and Commander of the Special Forces Brigade.

The effort, dedication and commitment of this man is strengthened by each of the courses he has done in his academic and military, among which are the following courses: Advanced Infantry, Military Parachute, Commands Regular, Land Command, Rural Special Forces, Lancer, Human Rights and Conflict Resolution, Logistics, Globalization and Strategic Planning, Human Resource Management and Diploma in Environmental Planning.

Major General Alejandro Navas has received over 50 awards, both domestic and foreign. Among them, Order of Military Merit Antonio Nariño, in the rank of Grand Officer, Order of Boyacá, in the category High Official; Order of Military Merit Jose Maria Cordova, in the rank of Grand Officer, Order of Military Merit Antonio Nariño in the degree of Commander, and the Distinguished Service Medal six times.
