Army deals forceful blow to drug trafficking in Norte de Santander: lab capable of producing two tons of cocaine per month destroyed

During the operation, the financial structure of the ELN’s Efraín Pabón Pabón Front was significantly disrupted through the seizure of 554 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, 150 kilograms of cocaine base, 424 gallons of cocaine hydrochloride in suspension, 55 gallons of cocaine base in suspension, 1,391 gallons of liquid chemicals, and 698 kilograms of solid chemicals used for processing the alkaloid.

According to military intelligence, this laboratory had the capacity to produce approximately two tons of cocaine hydrochloride per month, illicit proceeds that were used to finance the criminal activities of this organized armed group in the Catatumbo region.

With this operational result, the National Army reaffirms its commitment to continue conducting sustained offensive operations to combat drug trafficking and protect the security, peace, and well-being of communities in the department of Norte de Santander.
