Blows against alias Mono Chucho continue: more than 700 kilograms of cocaine seized by the National Army and Police in San Francisco, Antioquia

This result was achieved through joint and coordinated efforts between the Command Against Drug Trafficking and Transnational Threats (CONAT), the Colombian Aerospace Force, and the National Police, which led to the seizure of 725 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride found in a laboratory for processing illicit substances, consisting of eight structures, in the rural area of La Florida, in San Francisco, Antioquia.

In this coca-growing complex, which was apparently managed by alias Mono Chucho, the alleged local leader of the Gener Morales Sub-structure GAO, who was captured in recent hours by the Army, the following were found: 1,818 gallons of cocaine hydrochloride in suspension, 948 gallons of coca base in solution, 2,082 gallons of liquid processing chemicals and 1,564 kilograms of chemical substances.

It was determined that this facility had a monthly production capacity of 2 tons of drugs. Furthermore, the narcotics produced here were smuggled out of the country through the township of Nueva Colonia, in the municipality of Turbo, in the Urabá region of Antioquia, bound for Central America and the United States.

With this operation, the Colombian National Army prevented 725,000 doses of drugs from entering circulation, thereby helping to protect the family ties and personal goals of thousands of people affected by illicit drug use.

CONAT will continue to deploy its units throughout the country to disrupt the illicit economies of armed organizations. It will also provide peace of mind to the people of Colombia.
