This initiative seeks to strengthen cooperation ties between both nations and provide assistance to the most vulnerable communities in the border region, which is a strategic location that welcomes a large number of families in transit and migrant populations that face difficulties in accessing food and basic services.
In a joint effort to promote development, solidarity, and well-being in the Urabá region of Antioquia, the Colombian Armed Forces, through the National Army, the National Navy, and the Colombian Air Force, together with the National Police, the Mayor's Office of Necoclí, and the support of the Arturo Calle Foundation, Amigos Profesionales Voluntarios (AMPROVOL in Spanish), Santa Alianza, Minuto de Dios, Totto, Juan Corpas, PROFAMILIA, and the National Border Service of Panama (SENAFRONT in Spanish), among other allied organizations, carried out the Colombia-Panama 2025 Joint Binational Humanitarian Assistance Mission, a development support campaign held in Colombia (Necoclí) and Panama (Puerto Obaldía).
During the three-day event, various services were offered in the areas of pediatrics, speech therapy, general medicine, internal medicine, orthopedics, dentistry, dental surgery, psychology, gynecology, nursing, epidemiology, physical therapy, veterinary medicine, family medicine, and internal medicine, in addition to recreational, cultural, and wellness activities supported by the 7th Comprehensive Action and Development Support Battalion.
As a result of this mission, approximately 3,600 peoplewere treated and 15 tons of humanitarian aid were delivered, including non-perishable food, clothing, hygiene kits, groceries, school kits, and medicines, benefiting local families and the migrant population currently residing in this municipality.
A binational effort for hope and cooperation
This event reflects the shared commitment between Colombia and Panama to strengthen ties, cooperation, and development for the benefit of border communities, ensuring access to essential services and improving the living conditions of those who need it most.
In addition to the medical and social components, the mission included cultural presentations by the musical group Nota 7 from the 7th Comprehensive Action and Development Support Battalion, family recreation areas that included face painting, balloon twisting, popcorn, and cotton candy to celebrate the sweet day, and educational activities focused on community well-being.
A joint effort that leaves its mark
During the event, civil and military authorities and representatives of the participating foundations highlighted the importance of working together to promote human development, health, and regional integration.
The Colombian National Army, together with Panama's SENAFRONT, reaffirm their commitment to the most vulnerable communities in Urabá, Antioquia, and will continue to promote humanitarian actions that strengthen peace, international cooperation, and social welfare.
