National Army dismantles ten laboratories for the production of coca in Catatumbo

National Army dismantles ten laboratories for the production of coca in Catatumbo With this result, the finances of the ELN and the Epl Los Pelusos are seriously affected

The Vulcano Task Force managed to dismantle in one day 10 laboratories for the production of coca base paste and four illegal warehouses of supplies for drug trafficking.
In the Mesa Rica, Macanal and Tronqueros villages of the municipality of Convención, Norte de Santander, the soldiers that exercise institutional control of territories located and subsequently destroyed four laboratories for the processing of coca paste, and another six laboratories in Caño Reyes and El Mirador in the municipality of Tibú, for a total of 10 laboratories dismantled in one day.

With this result, the finances of the Eln and the Epl Los Pelusos were seriously affected, since 1710 gallons of coca paste in process, 750 gallons of artisanal gasoline, 2720 gallons of gasoline, 194 containers of various sizes, 13 plastic bottles, 250 gallons of diesel oil, two tons and a half of coca leaf, 1255 kilos of solid supplies and 310 gallons of liquid supplies were seized and destroyed.

Likewise, four illegal warehouses of raw materials for the processing of coca base paste were found in the rural area of the municipalities of Tibú and Convención, and very close to the laboratories. 62 kilos of solid supplies, 770 liquid supplies and 62 containers of various sizes were dismantled.

Furthermore, to counteract fuel smuggling, in rural area of the municipality of Tibú, the troops of the Mobile Brigade no. 30, while conducting offensive operations and guaranteeing the frontal fight against criminality in Catatumbo, managed to locate and destroy two illegal warehouses that hid 220 gallons of gasoline in 32 plastic containers. These warehouses would be owned by the Eln to store gas smuggled that would be commercialized in illegal markets or used as a supply for coca paste processing laboratories in Catatumbo.

These actions affected the subsystem of resources of Eln and the Epl Los Pelusos in about 800 million pesos in illegal domain. Thus, the National Army demonstrates, through the Vulcan Task Force, that it will continue to exercise its constitutional mission to safeguard the integrity of the civilian population, combating crime and drug trafficking links in Catatumbo, with the purpose of guaranteeing the constitutional mission and the sovereignty of the Nation. The Army invites the civilian population to continue reporting any act that violates the freedom of the community to lines 146 and 147.
