The Attention and Prevention of Disasters Engineers Battalion no. 80 received the visit of a staff of officers from the School of Arms and Services of the National Army, who are taking the course for promotion to the rank of captain.
The objective is to sensitize future captains about the actions and practices to reduce the impact caused by natural disasters, taking into account that they cannot be predicted or avoided. It is important for the officers to prepare themselves to face an emergency and perform drills to determine the actions to be taken during the different situations.
During the activity, the Battalion announced the different capacities that the unit has to support the civil authority in emergency care at a national and international level. These activities have allowed them to contribute to the progress of different regions of the country affected by different natural and anthropic phenomena. The 300 officers of the School of Arms and Services could see demonstrations in vertical rescue, forest fires, CBRN defense, among others.
With these actions, the National Army contributes to saving lives and goods, as well as reducing the vulnerability of the most affected populations by deploying professional and highly trained personnel in emergency care.
