Environmental Advisors of the National Army receive training on the good management of the drinking water and wastewater treatment processes.
Thanks to the environmental section of the Military Engineers Command, 22 Environmental Advisors from different divisions of the National Army were trained in the management of specialized equipment for the analysis of samples of drinking water and wastewater in the treatment plants located in the Army units.
The aim is to prepare the personnel to manage the equipment in an appropriate manner and comply with the environmental regulations which guarantee the protection of the environment and the quality of the water consumed by the soldiers. Manuel Cáceres, engineer and scientist, expert, is a product specialist and was the instructor.
The staff, in addition to knowing and improving the use of the equipment available to the institution, will have the ability to generate analyzes with greater precision, in a reliable manner and with results that allow corrective actions to determine the proper functioning of the systems based on current regulations.
Lt. Col. Juan Diego Mateus Silva, officer of the Environmental Management Section, said: we seek to ensure compliance with the regulations and guarantee the quality of life of the men of all units of the National Army, We want these environmental leaders to become in information multipliers and contribute to the improvement of the processes carried out by the institution.
