Operations aim at stopping any attempt of violence that illegal groups intend to carry out in Colombia.
Following the Victoria Strategic Military Plan for Stabilization and Consolidation in different regions of the country, the soldiers found five structures used to hide war material.
Initially, in the Yavia sector of the municipality of Uribe (Meta), the troops of the Omega Joint Task Force found and destroyed a place hiding 25 antipersonnel mines, 14 mortar shells, three long guns, a spare machine gun barrel, 10 meters of match cord, 17 cartridges caliber 7.62 mm, assault equipment and seven magazines. The material belonged to the residual group of the 40th Fron, also known as the Jacobo Arenas Front.
In turn, during a second operation carried out by the soldiers of the Sixth Division in the Nuevo Horizonte village of the municipality of San Vicente del Caguán (Caquetá), nine 81-mm mortar shells were found hidden in an illegal depot belonging to residual groups, this time to the Teófilo Forero Mobile Column.
Furthermore, in the Vista Hermosa village of the same region, the troops of the Caguán Specific Command neutralized a clandestine structure used by the same residual group; there the troops seized five kilos of black powder, 28 batteries, one kilogram of ammonium nitrate and two electric chargers.
Also, in the Plan de Cumare village of the municipality of San José del Guaviare (Guaviare), men of the Fourth Division found and destroyed an illegal depot with 140 kilos of black powder and urea belonging to the Armando Ríos residual front.
Finally, an 81-millimeter mortar was discovered in an illegal structure found by military units of the Fifth Division in the village of El Progreso in the municipality of Planadas (Tolima). According to the military, this element would belong to residual groups of the 21st Front La Gaitana.
