This man had been issued a blue notice by Interpol and was, apparently, the perpetrator of different terrorist actions, including the latest cases of anti-personnel mines in Arauca.
The Troops of the Quirón Task Force, assigned to the Eighth Division of the National Army, gave a hard blow in the past few hours to the Eastern War Front of the ELN, as its second ringleader was killed during military operations. This man perpetrated different terrorist attacks in the departments of Arauca, Boyacá and Casanare.

The events took place in the village of Caño Negro in the municipality of Fortul, when the troops carried out offensive operations that allowed counteracting the guerrilla after he opened fire on the Military Unit. Although combat nurses tried by save his life, he passed away.

Alias El Grillo had more than 20 years of experience in explosives inside the criminal organization, which allowed him to train different commissions on the handling of these unconventional weapons. He was in charge of instructing the terrorists in use and implementation of improvised explosive devices, and has been attributed different terrorist actions against the Caño Limón Coveñas pipeline. Furthermore, he may have been involved in the planting of the landmines that injured two people, including a child, which is a clear violation of International Humanitarian Law.
This man had been issued a blue notice by Interpol, and had an arrest warrant issued by the Special Prosecutors Office 117 EDA Arauca for the crimes of terrorism, rebellion, extortive kidnapping, attempted murder and forced displacement

This neutralization destabilizes the finances of the ELN, as well as its ability to carry out terrorist actions against the civilian population, the Public Force and the strategic assets of the State.
