Several municipalities of the department of Tolima paid homage to the heroes who gave their lives for the defense of the country. By unveiling commemorative plaques, civil authorities and residents, together, paid homage to the members of the National Army.

The names of the deceased heroes were read out loud by the secretary of government of this population, who said: we want to send a message of gratitude to these children of Mariquita, who now rest in peace, because their sacrifice has allowed building a Colombia in peace. The military officers remembered were Sergeant Second John Javier Moreno and Privates Wilson Rueda and Conrado Zuluaga.

Recently, the municipalities of Anzotegui and Rovira installed commemorative plaques as a tribute to the children of these populations who lost their lives on duty. The tributes have been made all across the department, where civil authorities and settlers recognize the sacrifice of the heroes of the National Army.

The Sixth Brigade, through its attached units, expects to repeat these initiatives in the 47 municipalities of the department, paying tribute to the soldiers of Tolima who became heroes for posterity with their exploits.
