The Hercules Joint Task Force, through its National Army component and the CTI of the Office of the Attorney General, captured Arizala-Vernaza Juan Gabriel, a.k.a Javier, brother of alias Guacho.
During a forceful operation framed in the Atlas military and police campaign, in the past hours Arizala-Vernaza Juan Gabriel, a.k.a Javier, was arrested after being issued a warrant for the crime of aggravated conspiracy by the Specialized Prosecutors Office 12 and the Tumaco Prosecutors Office 30.
The brother of alias Guacho, member of the residual organized armed group Oliver Sinisterra, was arrested thanks to exhaustive Military Intelligence tasks, search and follow-up work carried out by the troops in the area, as well as inter-agency work with the CTI of the Office of the Attorney General.
Alias Javier might have acted as a direct contact between this organization and its ringleader Walter Patricio Arizala-Vernaza, also his brother. In addition, this person, who tried to evade the troops during the development of the operation, was in charge of managing the militias of the townships of La Guayacana, Llorente and Tumaco.
The Military Forces stationed in the South Pacific of Nariño will continue to work together, coordinated and in an interagency manner to asphyxiate and neutralize the organized armed groups that commit crimes in the region, especially the Oliver Sinisterra group and its ringleader.
