Two firearms, seven fragmentation grenades, ammunition, communications equipment and information of that organized armed group were seized from these individuals.
In compliance with the Agamenón II Military and Police Campaign, troops of the Seventh Division of the National Army, in coordination with the Police, in the last hours achieved an important result against the logistical and criminal networks of the Gulf Clan, group that commits crimes in the Antioquia Bajo Cauca region.
The event took place in the urban area of the municipality of Caucasia, where after carrying out three simultaneous search warrants, eleven individuals were captured. These men may have arrived from El Bagre to coordinate the execution of criminal actions.
One of the detainees is Javier Morales, a.k.a. Lalo, 39, urban leader of that structure, who was allegedly involved in the execution of selective homicides in the municipalities of Cáceres, Caucasia and Tarazá, as well as in the confrontation against Los Caparrapos for the control of drug trafficking routes.
The detainees were seized two firearms, seven fragmentation grenades, abundant ammunition of different calibers, communications equipment, as well as documentation and information of that organized armed group, which is being analyzed by specialized military intelligence personnel.
These individuals and the material found were left at the disposal of the 26th District Attorneys Office of Caucasia for their respective prosecution process.
This result gives a forceful blow to the logistical and criminal networks of the Gulf Clan, since these people dedicated to the collection of extortion money through violence, which generated millionaire resources for the maintenance of the criminal structure.
