National Army appoints commanders of strategic units in southeastern Colombia

During the military ceremony, the appointment of Lieutenant Colonel José Florentino Torres as commander of the 10th Direct Action and Reconnaissance Battalion was made official, as was that of Major Sergio Mantilla Sanabria as commander of the 28th Rapid Deployment Battalion, Major César Mora Clavijo as commander of the 29th Rapid Deployment Battalion; and Major Óscar Alejandro Torres as commander of the 30th Rapid Deployment Battalion, units that together comprise approximately 1,800 soldiers deployed in the territory.

The ceremony, held in the municipality of Granada, Meta, reaffirmed the institutional commitment to continuing military operations, territorial control, and the protection of the civilian population in priority areas of the country.

The units that make up Rapid Deployment Force No. 10 have high-level differential capabilities, including air assault, military parachuting, lancer training, and freefall jumping in operations, which allow them to execute rapid insertion, high mobility, and highly complex missions in demanding operational scenarios.

These capabilities strengthen a timely, flexible, and forceful response to threats affecting regional security, contributing to the stability and tranquility of communities in southeastern Colombia.

The Fourth Division of the National Army reaffirms its constitutional mission to guarantee the life, security, and stability of the territory, maintaining a sustained and determined offensive against illegal armed structures that attempt to disrupt the order and tranquility of the population, and consolidating a solid command structure that is trained and prepared to face operational challenges in any scenario.
