New commander of the 1st Tarqui Artillery Battalion strengthens leadership in Boyacá

During the ceremony, Lieutenant Colonel Julián Humberto Rodríguez Silva assumed command of this unit and will be responsible for leading and strengthening the battalion's operational capabilities. This unit has an area of operations in 19 municipalities in the provinces of Sugamuxi and Valderrama, reaffirming the institutional commitment to the security, defense, and well-being of the population.

Lieutenant Colonel Rodríguez Silva is a native of the municipality of Socorro, Santander, and has 22 years of service in the Colombian National Army. He is an artillery officer, a professional in military sciences and business administration, with a master's degree in national security and defense. In addition, he has specializations in military unit command and administration and military resources for national defense.

His military career includes various courses in military specialties. He arrives transferred from the General Staff of the Fifth Brigade, in the department of Santander, and has served in different military units in the departments of Santander, Meta, Valle del Cauca, Risaralda, Antioquia, and Bogotá.

The ceremony was attended by officers, non-commissioned officers, soldiers, civilian personnel from the unit, and local authorities, who accompanied this important institutional moment that marks the beginning of a new stage of leadership in the service of the country.
