Rapid Deployment Force No. 4 reinforces military operations in Cauca with the arrival of its new commander

Colonel Garzón López has a distinguished career and extensive experience in the military field; he is also a Special Forces commander, which supports his leadership at the head of this important unit.

Rapid Deployment Force No. 4 is a light infantry air assault unit of the National Army, characterized by its logistical capacity and its ability to conduct military operations rapidly, effectively confronting factors of instability.

Before formally assuming command in the transfer ceremony, the new commander traveled to the township of El Plateado, in the municipality of Argelia, where he addressed his soldiers, reiterating the operational directives focused on protecting the civilian population, strengthening security, and consolidating territorial control through military operations.

The military transfer of command ceremony, in which Colonel Donny Edgardo Preciado Sierra handed over command to Colonel Jesús María Garzón López, took place at the Third Division Parade Ground. During his address, the new commander emphasized the importance of commitment, discipline, and mission fulfillment in conducting military operations aimed at countering the threats affecting this region of the country.

In this way, the National Army reaffirms its commitment to defending sovereignty, the integrity of the national territory, and protecting the civilian population, in strict compliance with Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law.

The National Army, through the Third Division, will continue to develop sustained, joint and coordinated military operations, aimed at neutralizing threats, affecting illicit economies and guaranteeing the security and defense of the national territory.
