The National Army has new specialized canine guides

These soldiers acquired skills in dog training and techniques for detecting explosives and narcotics, with the aim of strengthening the operational capabilities of explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) teams and improvised explosive device disposal (IEDD) teams.

This course, developed in accordance with the institution's mission, trains military personnel in the handling, management, and training of specialized dogs for searching for and locating explosive and narcotic substances in different operational scenarios, contributing to the protection of the Force and the security of the country.

Participants who complete this training are able to serve as dog handlers in substance detection, joining explosive ordnance disposal teams and improvised explosive device disposal groups, as well as units responsible for the security of facilities in different military cantons throughout the country.

During the closing ceremony, the performance of professional soldier Luis Ángelo Ochoa Serna was highlighted. He ranked first in the course, standing out for his discipline, commitment, and excellence during the training process.
