The National Army successfully rescues a minor in Mapiripán, Meta, who was linked to an illegal armed group

The operation was carried out in the municipal capital of Mapiripán, Meta, thanks to intelligence information that made it possible to locate the minor and promptly activate the procedure for his protection and the restoration of his rights.

According to the information gathered, the minor had been within this illegal structure for approximately two years, having been a victim of forced recruitment, a serious violation of human rights and international humanitarian law.

Once recovered, he was evacuated to San José del Guaviare, where he received medical care, and the process to restore his rights was immediately initiated. Subsequently, he was presented to the Ombudsman’s Office and handed over to the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare (ICBF) in Villavicencio, where the comprehensive protection process is currently underway.

The Fourth Division of the National Army reaffirms its commitment to the protection of children and adolescents and urges the community to report any cases of forced recruitment by illegal armed groups.
