Troops from the 10th Brigade foil terrorist attack against military facilities in Cesar

During military operations, troops from the 3rd Special Energy and Road Battalion, part of the 10th Brigade of the 1st Division, foiled a terrorist attack that alleged members of the Camilo Torres faction of the ELN organized armed group intended to carry out against this military unit’s facilities in the rural village of La Mata, municipality of La Gloria, Cesar.

The Explosives and Demolition Team (EXDE) and the Marte Group were immediately deployed. They implemented security protocols, secured the area, and carried out a controlled detonation of the device, successfully neutralizing the threat and preventing a terrorist attack that would have seriously endangered the lives of civilians and military personnel.
The 10th Brigade categorically condemns these actions, which constitute a serious violation of international humanitarian law and endanger the safety of communities.

The National Army will continue to carry out sustained military operations to neutralize the capabilities of organized armed groups, protect the population, and preserve security in the department of Cesar.
