It lasts one month, and the doctrine taught by the National Army requires highly trained and qualified instructors in this differential specialty offered by the National Training Center from ESASA.
The National Army, as guarantor and defender of the sovereignty and constitutional order of the State, has evolved in the way it carries out its missions and operations against armed groups outside the law.
One of these and perhaps the most important of all, is the execution of Air Assault operations, operations in which both air and ground elements are combined and take advantage of the surprise, speed, and mobility they provide to disorient and subdue enemy forces within their own area of interference and in the same way support the civilian population with humanitarian aid in any disaster that may arise. in the country.
Such has been the success of its courses, that currently, the Air Assault School (ESASA), develops in the Military Fort of Tolemaida, the 4th International Course of Air Assault Master, which has managed to provide a sense of security to Colombians, and this time, they have the participation of friendly countries such as Argentina, Ecuador, Panama, and the United States. Here, all of them receive instruction and training in abseiling techniques, K-Duck, the technique of insertion into the water from a Zodiac boat; Hellocast insertion from a moving aircraft in water tributaries, Spies, personnel extraction technique using ropes with the resistance of 10,000 pounds and Fast Rope, insertion technique from an aircraft, where the soldier makes descents using the force of his legs and arms.
In this way, the Air Assault School continues to deliver to the Institution men and women with the ability to plan, insert and maneuver successfully, contributing to the success of the operation, applying the different techniques and tactics that lead to the success of the operation in any mission.
