The Center for Military Education (CEMIL in Spanish) is participating in the Latin American University Digital Entrepreneurship Meeting (ELEDU 2026), an academic and technological forum that brings together universities, researchers, entrepreneurs, investors, and leaders of the region's digital ecosystem. The purpose of this event is to promote innovation, project development, and transformation from within academia.
This meeting, held at the campus of the Nueva Granada Military University, is establishing itself as a platform for collaboration between higher education, technology, and entrepreneurship. It promotes the creation of initiatives with real impact in Latin America, strengthens knowledge networks, and connects with strategic players in the digital ecosystem.
In this international setting,
CEMIL is presenting three projects led by the Directorate of Science and Technology, which reflect the evolution of military training and capabilities toward digital, immersive, and highly specialized environments.
The first of these is Anera, developed by the Infantry School through its Science and Technology Office. This virtual reality simulator transforms the traditional sandbox into an immersive environment that allows military personnel and students to analyze courses of action in operations using realistic 2D and 3D scenarios, integrating terrain, scenery, audiovisual effects, and NATO symbology.
This system significantly strengthens teaching and learning processes, optimizing the understanding of operational planning and improving decision-making capabilities in complex contexts, without the physical limitations of conventional methods.
Meanwhile,
the BG Ricardo Charry Solano Intelligence and Counterintelligence School, together with the Center for Research on Asymmetric Warfare (CIGA in Spanish), presents the project "Gamification of Intelligence Processes in the Colombian National Army," which implements a three-dimensional virtual environment based on gamification techniques.
This initiative allows military personnel and intelligence students to interact in simulated and controlled environments, applying knowledge in real time and strengthening analytical skills, strategic thinking, and decision-making in hybrid and dynamic settings.
Both projects represent concrete advances in the modernization of military training and generate strategic benefits for the National Army, including:
- Strengthening decision-making through realistic simulated environments;
- Optimizing the learning process with immersive and innovative methodologies;
- Increasing the analytical and strategic capacity of military personnel;
- Standardizing and improving operational planning processes;
- Preparing the men and women of the Army to face complex, multi-domain, and highly dynamic scenarios.
CEMIL's participation in ELEDU 2026 demonstrates the institution's commitment to digital transformation, educational innovation, and the development of capabilities that consolidate the vision of the Army of the future, relying on the multidisciplinary work of the men and women of the Force to generate projects with an impact on fulfilling the National Army's mission.
