Major blow to drug trafficking in Nariño: 23 labs destroyed by Army troops in less than six days

As a result of an operational strategy planned and executed in a coordinated manner by Hércules Task Force troops deployed along the Pacific coast of Nariño, 23 laboratories used for processing coca base paste were located and destroyed in the municipalities of Barbacoas, El Charco, Olaya Herrera, and Tumaco.

These actions, carried out in less than six days, significantly disrupted the criminal structures that finance themselves through drug trafficking, directly undermining their logistical and economic capabilities. According to estimates by the authorities, the destruction of these illegal complexes represents a financial loss of nearly 700 million pesos, weakening the sources of funding for organized armed groups operating in this region of the country.

The Hércules Task Force will continue to carry out sustained military operations in the department of Nariño, with the aim of neutralizing illicit economies, strengthening community security, and contributing to the stability of the region.

The operational offensive continues unabated; the Army’s Third Division will continue to work tirelessly to protect the civilian population and combat the criminal structures that threaten peace in the Colombian Pacific region.
