The National Army deploys its unique capabilities in disaster and emergency response to support the department of Casanare

Two specialized platoons are deployed across five operational fronts, coordinating efforts with the Fire Department, the Colombian Civil Defense, local authorities, and agencies of the National Disaster Risk Management System to assist the areas most severely impacted by the flooding.

In the municipality of San Luis de Palenque, rescue soldiers are conducting evacuation and rescue operations in areas affected by rising water levels; so far, they have brought 15 people who were at risk to safety.

At the same time, in the municipality of Trinidad, soldiers are carrying out evacuation efforts in the rural areas of Bélgica, San Vicente, Bucare, La Cañada, San Pedro, and La Soledad, where three people were rescued and direct assistance was provided to 80 residents affected by the emergency.

As part of the efforts to ensure the well-being of the affected communities, the troops also assisted with the loading and distribution of humanitarian aid, benefiting approximately 450 people; in addition, 15,000 liters of water were delivered.

The scale of the emergency has led to a focus on an estimated population of 800 families, prioritizing assistance in the hardest-hit areas and maintaining an ongoing assessment of humanitarian needs in the region.

From the Unified Command Post, where deployed troops are actively participating, response operations, damage assessments, and the planning of new actions to expand the scope of assistance continue to be coordinated.
