In a solemn ceremony held at the National Army Non-Commissioned Officers’ Club, 26 command sergeant majors and 165 sergeant majors were promoted to the highest rank within the non-commissioned officer corps, in recognition of a life dedicated to serving the nation.
This promotion represents not only a professional achievement but also the culmination of years of sacrifice, discipline, leadership, and unconditional dedication. Each of these men has forged his path in the field, leading by example, guiding his troops, and serving as a cornerstone in the fulfillment of the institutional mission.
Command major sergeants, as the highest leaders among non-commissioned officers, assume the responsibility of guiding, inspiring, and strengthening unit morale, becoming strategic advisors to commanders and guarantors of the soldiers’ well-being and readiness.
For their part, the sergeant majors represent the pinnacle of a career built on vocation, experience, and commitment, serving as living examples of what it means to serve the National Army with honor, loyalty, and professionalism.
During the ceremony, the invaluable contribution of non-commissioned officers to nation-building was celebrated, highlighting their decisive role in every operation, every humanitarian mission, and every action that contributes to Colombia’s security and stability.
Behind every promotion are life stories marked by perseverance, love for the institution, and the support of their families, who have been a fundamental pillar at every step of their military careers.
The National Army recognizes these new command major sergeants and major sergeants as leaders of integrity, mentors to generations, and guardians of military tradition.
Today, more than just a rank, they receive a symbol of trust, respect, and responsibility. Their example will continue to guide those who follow the path of service, because being a non-commissioned officer is more than a rank: it is a legacy of leadership, honor, and commitment to Colombia.
