The National Army strengthens its operational safety capabilities with historic reduction in accidents

In keeping with its ongoing commitment to the life and safety of its personnel, the National Army, through the Personnel Command and the Directorate for Integrity and Safety Preservation, continues to strengthen its capabilities in specialized technical training for high-risk tasks.

Since 2018, more than 7,500 men and women have been trained in working at heights and in confined spaces, thanks to the launch of the Vocational Learning Unit in Companies (UVAE in Spanish) and the nationwide deployment of the Perseo truck, an innovative mobile training strategy that has made it possible to bring high-quality technical instruction to different regions of the country.

Likewise, the Training Center located in Facatativá has established itself as a benchmark in specialized training, guaranteeing optimal safety and preparedness standards for the fulfillment of institutional missions.

This effort has generated a historic result: a 90% reduction in accidents related to critical work at heights and in confined spaces, strengthening the culture of prevention and risk management within the institution.

The training not only benefits Army personnel but also extends to the other branches of the military, reaffirming the institutional commitment to ensuring that every mission is, above all, a safe mission.

With these actions, the National Army reaffirms its responsibility for the well-being of its men and women, consolidating a force that is better prepared and committed to safety in every operation.
