The General José María Córdova Military Cadet School was the setting where soldiers from the National Army began preparations for the traditional July 20 military and police parade.
To the sound of drums and trumpets setting the pace, the National Army began rehearsals for the traditional July 20 military and police parade as part of the preparations to commemorate the 216th anniversary of Colombia’s Cry of Independence.
The General José María Córdova Military Cadet School served as the venue that brought together the men and women who, with discipline, precision, and patriotic pride, began their preparations to participate in one of the most iconic events of the national celebration.
A total of 2,225 soldiers from the National Army will march through the streets of Ciudad Bolívar and Bosa, where they will demonstrate the training, operational capability, and commitment that characterize those who work daily for the security, defense, and protection of all Colombians.
Brigadier General Carlos Ernesto Marmolejo Cumbe, commander of the National Army’s Fifth Division, will be in charge of opening the military parade. He emphasized that: “All of us here are children, parents, and grandparents of this nation, and we are filled with pride to march in honor of the Colombian people.”
During the parade, attendees will be able to witness a display of the National Army’s unique capabilities, as well as the professionalism, discipline, and dedication to service of the men and women who make up the institution.
The National Army invites all Colombians to join in this great national celebration and to pay tribute to those who, with honor, loyalty, and commitment, remain in the service of the nation. The July 20 military and police parade will, once again, serve as an opportunity to strengthen national pride, celebrate Colombia’s history, and reaffirm the Armed Forces’ unwavering commitment to defending the sovereignty, security, and well-being of all citizens.
