New leadership strengthens the logistical capabilities of the No. 1 Las Juanas Quartermaster Battalion

During the formal ceremony, Lieutenant Colonel Carlos Enrique Castañeda Rueda handed over command to Lieutenant Colonel David Alejandro Díaz Tamayo, who assumed leadership of the battalion with a commitment to strengthen its logistical production capabilities and continue contributing to the operational sustainment of the National Army.

The ceremony also highlighted the leadership of Lieutenant Colonel Carlos Enrique Castañeda Rueda, who during his tenure drove significant administrative and production advancements. Among his main achievements is the integration of 299 professional soldiers with reduced work capacity, who, thanks to support from SENA, were trained and incorporated into the production processes for uniforms, footwear, leather goods, and carpentry, thereby contributing significantly to the unit’s logistical mission.

For his part, Lieutenant Colonel David Alejandro Díaz Tamayo assumed this new responsibility with the aim of continuing to strengthen production capabilities, optimize logistics processes, promote the well-being of personnel, and foster the development of new capabilities that contribute to the sustainability of the National Army and the success of military operations.

With this transfer of command, the No. 1 Las Juanas Quartermaster Battalion reaffirms its commitment of more than a century in the service of Colombia. For over 100 years, this unit has played a fundamental role in manufacturing quartermaster supplies to ensure the well-being of soldiers and support the fulfillment of the National Army’s constitutional mission, establishing itself as an essential pillar for the sustainment of the Force.
