The National Army's 8th Division now has 26 new sharpshooters

For several weeks, professional soldiers underwent rigorous training that integrated technical, tactical, and psychological knowledge, focused on perfecting skills in long-range shooting, observation, stalking, aiming, camouflage, and decision-making in complex scenarios such as the high temperatures of the plains, variable humidity, and open terrain, which present an additional challenge that strengthens our soldiers’ preparedness.

The program was led by instructors from the National Army’s Shooting School, highly qualified military personnel of global renown, who imparted not only advanced techniques but also fundamental principles such as ethics, responsibility, and respect for human rights and the application of international humanitarian law in the conduct of military operations to be carried out in the departments of Arauca, Casanare, Guainía, and Vichada.

At the end of the course, the new high-precision marksmen demonstrated their ability to execute missions with high standards of effectiveness and safety, thereby contributing to the strengthening of military operations in defense of the sovereignty and stability of the Colombian Orinoquía region.

Finally, it is worth noting that this type of training reinforces professionalism within the National Army and its ability to adapt to the security challenges it faces.
